The Pembrokeshire Coast Path

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail hugs the coastline for 186 miles of some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Britain.

From St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south, the trail covers almost every kind of marine landscape from steep limestone cliffs, undulating red sandstone bays, volcanic headlands, beaches, estuaries and flooded glacial valleys.

Lying almost entirely within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the trail displays an array of coastal flowers, bird life along with resident and transient marine life as well as evidence of human activity from Neolithic times to the present.

Completing the Coast Path in one go, taking on average between 10 and 15 days, is quite an undertaking. The ascents and descents are said to be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest – 35,000 feet!

Most visitors walk short sections at a time, adding a piece at a time to the jigsaw puzzle, making good use of the Coastal bus service to simplify logistics.

We of course believe the path around the St Davids peninsula area is some of the best and most dramatic walking of the entire trail. With stunning views out to the local off shore islands.

Pembrokeshire Beaches

We have some of the most spectacular beaches in the country, right here in Pembrokeshire. Some are big sandy beaches with easy access and ample parking, where as others are a little harder to find and take some committment to get access.

This means that even in the busy summer season, there are still a few secret little beaches and coves that remain quiet and secluded.

Our main beaches are all lifeguarded during the summer and are fantastic locations for sports like sea swimming, surfing, Stand up Paddle Boarding, kite surfing, the list goes on...

With these beaches being patrolled by the RNLI Beach Life Guards, they are also the ideal place for a fun family day out.

In the evenings, once the crowds have headed off, our beaches are a superb place to relax and watch the sunset over the horizon.

Boat Trips

Pembrokeshire has some stunning off shore islands dotted along its coast. These island provide vital sanctuaries and breeding grounds to many visiting and resident marine and bird life.
